Website administrator
Joomla website administrators can:
- Create / edit / delete managers.
- Create / edit / delete seasons.
- Name seasons, like "Season 1 - 2009", each event added to system is tied to season.
- Administrator marks which one of the seasons are the current active season.
- Active season are selected by default on pages with seasons selection drop-downs.
Events
Admin can delete any events regardless of time they were added.
Merging players
Administrator is able to merge two players into one. If a players name has previously been entered incorrectly and the Manager has since changed this name in the tournament software, administrators are able to merge players to keep all records with the new name for the player.
Administrator can also do everything managers can.
Managers
Managers can do the following:
Manage events
List events
When a manager logs in there will be a list of previous events they created so they can delete if required (due to error) and an “Add Event” button to upload new event.Upload event
On this page the manager browses for the TD exported XML file (XML from thetournamentdirector.net software exported for stats genie format) on his computer and selects a venue from a drop down list (all existing venues are displayed) and season from a drop down list (all seasons are displayed).
XML has following information which is added to the database for this event:
- Player Names
- Ranks
- Points (TournamentPts)
- Tournament Date (TournamentStartDate)
- Tournament Name (Name)
- Tournament Notes (Comments)
- Number of players
When an event is added an email is sent to administrators with attached XML file and includes some of the above exported data.
Delete event
Managers can delete only events they created (in the case of error). Also managers can delete event only within 24hrs from adding the event.
Manage venues
Add new Venue including details:
- Name
- Logo/Picture
- Phone
- Other Information
- Address (will be displayed on a venue page and used to find coordinates for google map)
- Phone
- Website URL
- Prize Details (HTML field)
Manage Players
Managers see the list of all players which were created by uploaded XML files. There's a filter on a list players page to search all players by name.
The only actions manager can do is edit player details:
- email (only visible to all managers)
- photo (only one image, visable to all on the user view page)
- manage trophies.
Managers can add a trophy in manager area to players details.
Each trophy has a title, one player can multiple trophies as they are not season relevant, but player relevant.
